Dejobaan Games, of AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! fame, have announced that they are revisiting an old April Fool’s joke and developing Drunken Robot Pornography (DRP). No not that – a first person shooter about destroying huge flying titans, silly!

Development on DRP started back in January of 2012 and things have apparently come along way since then, partly due to the hiring of Elliot Borenstein who moved from intern to full timer. What you can see of the game at the moment is mostly early prototypes, but it’s still pretty to look at and you’ll get a good idea of what Dejobaan are aiming for.

But what is this ludicrously named game all about? Well, dear friends, let’s dive in shall we?

In DRP you play as a human, a pretty squiddly one with a jetpack and some guns, who is placed in some awkward floating arena and take out the gigantic robots – called Titans – that come along and try to rip, squish and otherwise dismember you until death becomes, well…you. The titan has lasers, missiles and is generally good at squashing things so you better make quick with (PENETRATING) picking off its firepower, then perhaps a vital joint so as to take it apart and leave it writhing.

DRP isn’t entirely encompassed by this pornographic fight scene, there is also a means to create your very own titans and unleash them on other players. The developers describe it with such vivacity so they can take this one:

“Start with a skeleton of titanium girders, then mount pulse cannons and shielding over hard points. Add actuators so your Titan can flex its arms or tentacles, and jets for locomotion. Pick your materials carefully — an aluminum finish may be pretty, but graphene armor will better withstand attack. Finally, fuel it up with isopropanol for speed, methanol for strength, or ethanol, if you just want your Titan to end up really, really angry.”

The above is old prototype footage, you can get a better look at the game in the screenshots below. Back to business though! DRP was first spotted at PAX East where a few hundred people were allowed to play it, the reactions were good and development is going strong which means that you should see its release on PC and Mac later in the year that is 2012.
