Torchlight Update Adds Achievements, Steam Cloud

Torchlight_Update []We’ve already pointed out that Torchlight has been given a 50% off sale on Steam, but if you’re the kind of person who has to have a reason for everything we have you covered as the discount celebrates a new update to the dungeon crawler.

This particular update isn’t your run of the mill change log fodder though, Runic’s action RPG gains Steam Cloud support and 67 achievements with the patch. For those unfamiliar with Cloud, it allows you to save characters and games and access them on any computer with your Steam account.

So there you go, oh and Torchlight is only $10 through the weekend so get on that too.

‘Torchlight’ 50% Off Weekend Sale on Steam

TorchlightThis might be cliche, but you’d have to be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of Torchlight yet. Runic Games has created an RPG that is on the list of countless websites as not only one of the best indie games but one of the best in general of 2009. With an abundance of appraisal the title currently reigns supreme and its popularity is justified with excellent gameplay. Even our own Geoff Gibson thought of the game as amazing.

Here’s the awesome news: you can get it right now on Steam for 50% off. That means that the game has gone down from its regular $19.99 price tag to $9.99 and by the looks of it, this is an offer you will regret passing up! Feel free to download the demo and give it a shot, but all I have been hearing about this title is that it is addictive and offers a top-notch level of enjoyment.

So get on it right here!

Osmos $2 on Steam

Osmos_Sale_Steam []Steam has launched a short Holiday sale that includes the slashing of Hemisphere Games’ award winning indie title Osmos. The game can be picked up for $2, an 80% discount off the standard $10 tag.

The sales are stamped with ‘one day only’ warnings, but the countdown clock provided on the sale page has the batch of discounts ending Friday morning, providing a bit more time to pony up the Washington Twins. By the way, for game developers reference: Discounting your game to the $2 range will at least guarantee my immediate purchase. Honestly, I’m much happier having the arbitrary sum of two bucks going to a good game as opposed to whatever the hell else I was going to do with the amount.

Osmos recently received one of four nominations for the VGA 2009 Best Independent Game, with Flower, conveniently on sale as well. ‘Splosion Man and Trials HD I’m looking at you–where’s that sweet ‘we’re up for an award’ discount?

Playstation Network Sale Includes Flower for $5

Flower_logo

In the midst of several game discounts on Sony’s Playstation Network, indie standout Flower is available now for half-off. The ‘poetic-adventure’ title developed by ThatGameCompany will run you just $5 through Tuesday, December 2.

Flower is one of those games where the developer’s goal is to whisk the player out of their seat and into an almost dreamlike, wholly unique experience; you’ve seen the type. Taking place in Japan, each level is set in a different flower’s dream as it sits on the window of a bland city apartment. As the player advances through the game, the apartment and city gradually becomes more vibrant and colorful.

Flower debuted back in February of this year for Playstation 3′s online network, with the award winning title recently receiving one of the four nominations for VGA 2009′s Best Indie.
