All good things must come to an end. In 24 hours, the current Steam Autumn/Thanksgiving sale will be closing its doors, and approximately fifty hojillion games will be returning to normal price until the inevitable Winter/Holiday sale. They’re not going out without a bang, though, and they’ve saved some of the best indie deals for last. After the break, our roundup of today’s noteworthy discounts, and the best of the rest.
Autumn, a season where yellow leaves fall from the trees, and green ones fall from your wallet. The fourth day of the massive Steam Thanksgiving/Autumn sales season just kicked off, and once again there’s some notable indie deals to be found in today’s lineup. Light and Dark seems to be the theme of the day; Searing solar auras, or gloomy monochrome hell? Or perhaps just a five-finger discount? After the break, the deals in question, and some thoughts on the games themselves.
Another day, another chunk taken out of your wallet, and another few delicious indie games added to your swelling Steam account. As with all our other updates on this subject, these are just the daily deals that you should be paying attention to – there’s no shortage of other games out there. Today, just a couple of items, but they’re essentials if you like your games bright and shooty.
We don’t normally discuss individual game sales here, but I’ve acquired a certain fondness for Antipole that I think everybody should have. As such, here it is: Antipole is having a special 1-day sale right now where you can get the game for $1.99 via Desura down from the usual, already cheap price of $4.99.
As if we weren’t already drowning in great games this month, another one pops up out of nowhere, and it’s already on sale for half price. Today marks the start of the Thanksgiving/autumn holiday sale on Steam, and each day will bring a range of new bargains. Today is special, though – Dejobaan have launched their latest surreal skydiving score-attack game at half price. Time to give thanks indeed. More info on the game, as well as other indie deals of the day after the break.
Looks like the leak was accurate. Hot on the heels of the thunderously successful Humble Voxatron Debut pack, the bargain-generating, part-charity titan that is the Humble Bundle return, this time offering every single game by prolific and generally excellent indie studio Introversion, all for whatever you want to pay, along with a couple of tech prototypes to play around with. Go over the average, and you get Bit-Blot’s amazing aquatic Metroidvania title Aquaria, as well as Petri Purho’s Crayon Physics Deluxe thrown in to sweeten the deal. What are you waiting for? Go grab you some indie joy.
70,000 sales in just a few days is not to be sniffed at, especially considering that Cthulhu Saves The World’s success of 100,000 sales happened over the course of four months. But it’s still a drop in the ocean compared to the enormous success of the Humble Indie Bundles. As of today, Indie Royale are stepping up their game by offering mystery preorders on their upcoming bundles. Those who want to cut ahead of the server-crashing crowds can pay now, and get the at-least-4 games immediately as bundle goes live, for as little as $4. The gamble? You don’t know what the games are.

Niche developer collective Shrapnal Games have discounted a whole load of their games for a Holiday Sale. As of today, you can find all the participating games on this page here. It’s mostly military sims, which I haven’t got a clue about, but there’s some ace titles from Digital Eel reduced, and more.

It’s been over a year since that loveable cube of meat invaded our lives, and what better way to celebrate a year of meat than a sale on Steam, featuring Super Meat Boy and all of his friends. Here’s what’s included in this weekend’s meaty sale:
Santa is going to have to be working overtime to make this coming Christmas seem anywhere near noteworthy. The past month or two has seen a chain of Humble Bundles, Indie Royales and more dumping dozens of great discounted indie games on us. Now, indie co-operative Show Me The Games is hosting a 21 game sale for the next two weeks. Check it out.
