Garry’s Mod Update Released

Garrys_mod_update_June_2Garry’s back, updating his titular game Garry’s Mod with a new patch now available to download for owners of the game on the Steam client.

The update fixes players not being able to join non-English servers, along with an improved datapack. The patch also brings a list of bug fixes to the title including band-aids for several crash issues, and the addition of three new entities as well.

Eschalon Book II v1.03 Released

Eschalon_June_1_updateBasilisk Games has released a new update for its old-school RPG Eschalon Book II, now available for download both automatically on Impulse and manually via the game’s official site.

The v1.03 patch brings several bug fixes (including odd little ones), tweaks and overall improvements to the role-playing sequel. Highlights include a higher resolution world map and a fix to the way HP and MP were calculated at level up.

The demo version of the title reflects the changes as well. From the change log:

- Fixed a rare condition that sometimes caused a crash on map loads (this includes Quick Traveling).

- Avatar graphics are updated properly if you overcharge an item and destroy it.

- Fixed a miscalculation with the way MP and HP are gained at level-up.

- Fixed an odd little bug involving the swapping of rings when multiples of the same kind are involved.

- Updated the premade characters as the previous versions were saved under an old format, causing errors.

Din’s Curse v1.001 Update, v1.002 Beta Released

Din's_Curse_updatesSoldak Entertainment has announced the full version release of the v1.001 update for its action RPG Din’s Curse, now available for download. The patch brings a list of bug fixes, additions, improvements, lots of gameplay tweaks and more.

The developer has also announced the beta release of the v1.002 update for those interested in checking out, and hopefully testing and reporting, upcoming potential changes and fixes being brought forth to the game. The beta patch brings a long list of new items and balance adjustments as well.

Eschalon Book II v1.02 Update Released

Eschalon_Book_II_updateBasilisk Games has released a new update for its RPG sequel Eschalon Book II, now available for download via the Impulse client.

The v1.02 patch brings a laundry list of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks and improvements and other additions to the title. Highlights include spell protection working properly against curses, the recipe window displaying properly, fixes for several minor map errors, and much more.

The file is available now via Impulse but can also be downloaded manually via the game’s official site. The demo of the title reflects the new changes as well. From the notes:

- Fixed a “Divide By Zero” error when you get your HP or MP to regenerate at “1 point every 0 rounds.”

- Fixed an “Exception Access Violation” when some creatures neared the edge of the map.

- Last thrown object no longer results in injury if you are unskilled in Unarmed Combat.

- Soul Piercer arrow gives proper damage bonus against ethereal creatures.

- Casting Sunder Flesh no longer crashes game.

Killing Floor Mac Gets Patched

Killing_Floor_Mac_updateTripwire Interactive has released a new Mac update for its survival shooter Killing Floor, now available for download via the Steam platform.

The patch brings a quartet of fixes to the title, including a rendering issue in windowed mode, another for a crossbow scope view, and resolves a black screen issue showing up when players receive damage on some GPUs.

The file can be downloaded automatically for owners of the Mac version of the game on Steam, just restart the client if the patch doesn’t show-up immediately. From the change log:

Shattered Horizon Updates Bring Performance Optimizations

Shattered_Horizon_update_May_30Futuremark has released a pair of new updates for its first-person space shooter Shattered Horizon, now available for download.

The v1.2.1.28 patch brings several optimizations to the game’s engine code, with noticeable frame rate and general performance improvements, especially with middle to low end cards. The update also brings a change to the winning conditions of the Assault mode to reduce the percentage of matches ending in ties, and weekly leaderboards have been added to the Shattered Horizon website.

A minor patch (v1.2.1.29) released shortly after the update previously detailed fixes a few rare crash bugs as well. Both are available automatically on Steam for owners of the game. From the change log:

This update makes several optimizations to engine code. Frame rates and general performance should improve noticeably particularly with low and mid range cards.

The winning conditions for Assault mode have been changed to reduce the number of matches ending in draws. A team now wins either by capturing more control points than the other team during the round, or by capturing all of the control points faster than the other team.

Server commands have been added allowing admins to edit the level cycle while the game is running. See the Shattered Horizon game manual for details.

Bullet Candy Update Released

Flotilla Update Released

Flotilla_updateBlendo Games has released a new update for its journey-through-the-galaxy title Flotilla, now available for download.

The v2.332 patch brings a few fixes including a trio of crash issues along with an increase in the online scoreboard listing, which now lists the top 1,000 player scores. Additionally, how score is calculated is more intricate as well, though it’s vague exactly has been added or adjusted to make this so.
