DIYGamer has been gushing over it since its inception. If its 2D painted visual dreaminess isn&#8217;t convincing enough, how about a fully dynamic real-time narrated story line? As gamers explore <em>Bastion</em>, a booming voice comments on both what the player has done or should do. It&#8217;s a risky mechanic, but most truly innovative mechanics are!</p>
<p>Super Giant has received loads of praise at GDC, both PAXes, and most recently E3, so the innovation sounds appreciated. Take a look at what has everyone talking:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TptJHeWngJs?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TptJHeWngJs?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a list of all the XBLA Summer of Arcade games, their release dates, and their price points:</p>
<ul>
<li>July 20	<em>Bastion</em> (1200 MS Points)</li>
<li>July 27	<em>From Dust</em> (1200 MS Points)</li>
<li>August 3	<em>Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet</em> (1200	MS Points)</li>
<li>August 10	<em>Fruit Ninja Kinect</em> (800 MS Points)</li>
<li>August 17	<em>Toy Soldiers: Cold War</em> (1200 MS Points)</li>
</ul>
<p><em>From Dust</em> (Ubisoft&#8217;s almost-indie title) and <a href="http://www.fuelcellgames.com/" target="_blank">FuelCell</a>/<a href="http://michelgagne.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Gagne International&#8217;s</a> <em>Insanely Twisted</em> are of particular interest. The latter is a 2D action-adventure game: think Metroid gameplay if Samus stayed in her damn ship. It looks and plays amazingly. This trailer should help seal the deal:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-9r6J0b-2BI?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-9r6J0b-2BI?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>Finally, if you buy all XBLA Summer titles, you can get an awesome dungeon crawler from independent studio <a href="http://www.certainaffinity.com/">Certain Affinity</a> for free. <em>Crimson Alliance</em> supports up to 4 players in co-op locally or over Xbox LIVE and releases September 7. Seeing as how it&#8217;s almost the weekend, let&#8217;s make this easy for everyone and post another trailer!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WX8IeHrxwek?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WX8IeHrxwek?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>In short, XBLA has some sweet gems headed our way this summer, even if the indie titles seem to all veer towards a collective action/adventure experience. What XBLA titles are you looking forward to?</p>

In the beautiful 2D shooter, you control a flying saucer while dark, creepy things try to get you.</p>
<p>Reading the comments on the developer&#8217;s blog, it&#8217;s clear that many of the people following the game are dissapointed with that announcement. But developer Gagne said in the comments that &#8220;No one here is saying that there won&#8217;t be a PC version.&#8221; So that&#8217;s good news for anyone without an Xbox 360. </p>
<p>Still, there&#8217;s little information aside from the platform announcement, so we&#8217;ll have to wait for details like a release date or price. But stick around and we&#8217;ll keep you updated.</p>
