Space Lumberjack

Andrew Brophy has unveiled the first trailer for his upcoming space-based, wood chopping game, Space Lumberjack, which is likely to be a freeware title for the PC.

Maker of many free games for your starry-eyed pleasures, Andrew Brophy who is also part of the Going Stars development group, has released a new trailer. What is missing with said trailer is the accompanying words that make up a description, but you can pretty much grasp what the game is all about.

Judging from the trailer, Space Lumberjack will be a sidescrolling title in which you play the titular character whose job is clearly quite dangerous. This lumberjack is tasked with chopping down trees on other planets which do not support a breathable atmosphere. Now, you science geeks are going to say, “but if there’s tree on the planet, how is the air not breathable?” To which we say, don’t question it, these are space trees…yeah. In game, you’ll be exploring the planets and chopping down trees to take back to your truck but you have a limited supply of air to work with. Luckily, it seems that the lumberjack also has a jetpack of some kind to help him get around – unlockable, perhaps?

There’s also another variation in gameplay visible in the trailer in which you must fling the lumberjack around in space to collect bits of chopped wood while avoiding what can only be described as space bears. We’re not kidding – take a look yourself!
