Stickmen Studios’ invent and adventure game Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time is heading to the Playstation Network sometime soon, so says the New Zealand-based developer. The port will receive Move motion control support, a sandbox level to tinker around in, and new in-game abilities.

The title has Players jumping into Doc’s world of insane and ingenious inventions with his sarcastic robot backpack Sack. Features for the game include contraption building and time manipulation (my favorite!), with the PSN version of course carrying trophies in lieu of achievements.

Pricing is to be revealed in the coming weeks according to the press release. A PC version of the title is currently available on Steam for just $5, and there’s also a WiiWare version out there for 1,000 Wii Points. Some knowledge for you if your options happen to exceed a PS3 and you can’t wait, or if you were just completely unaware of this game in the first place. Which by the way happens way too much–damn those innumerable indies.

New Zealand-based Stickmen Studios has ported Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time for the WiiWare service at the cost of 1000 Wii Points. The game released on January 17. Those gamers who don’t play on the PC or missed out on buying Doc Clock on sale in Steam’s Indie Clever Pack last year can now enjoy the Doc’s crazy contraption building, platform traversing adventure on the Wii.

Players can immerse themselves in the Doc’s world of ingenious inventions with his contemptuous robot backpack Sack, time travel while dodging madly misguided techno-phobic hippy robots in a bid to save the Doc’s cat Franklin from being turned into a potted “catcus.” The last part makes for an incentive to lose at least once! Check out the bizarre contraption building:

Some features of Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time include:

INFINITE POSSIBILITIES… of building things.

PLAY WITH TIME… with the Time Slider.

TROPHY COLLECTING… every good game needs these nowadays for the kids.

I was curious about the time manipulation, so I found this video:

Both videos boast similar BGM, so I can only assume that is representative of the in-game music. Based on the videos, I am both interested and scared by what I can build. The possibilities seem limitless, but certain parts seem to add very specific functionality. I’m hoping for a thorough tutorial or at least an explanation of each each piece’s attributes which will help me accomplish what I want it to do.

[WWWWW is a new recurring feature on DIY in an effort to support other consoles' download services. Fortunately or not, Nintendo has a much stricter release policy, so the wacky WiiWare weekend coverage may not happen as often. Stickmen Studios delivered us in the hands of their promotions company, so we should have a preview/review of the game soon.]

Stickmen Studios homepage
Doc Clock‘s own website, which even has tasty recipes

As with yesterday and the day before it, today Steam has kicked off a new round of amazing deals. While normally, each day there would be a bunch of AAA games with a single pack of indie games for $4.99, today Steam has decided to offer up a couple more indie games. Here’s what you can get:

Machinarium – $5.00

Torchlight – $5.00

Indie Clever Pack – $4.99

Inside the Clever pack comes Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time, Eufloria, Iron Grip: Warlord, VVVVVV, and World of Goo all great games that, if bought seperately would ammount to $49.96, and they can be yours for a mere $4.99.

Also, for those that don’t recall, Machinarium was our game of the year for 2009. Something to keep in mind when ogling that tempting price point.

Deal ends tomorrow at 10:00am PST.
