As if we weren’t already drowning in great games this month, another one pops up out of nowhere, and it’s already on sale for half price. Santa is going to have to be working overtime to make this coming Christmas seem anywhere near noteworthy. The past month or two has seen a chain of Humble Bundles, Indie Royales and more dumping dozens of great discounted indie games on us. Now, indie co-operative Show Me The Games is hosting a 21 game sale for the next two weeks. Check it out.
Frozenbyte’s unique co-op puzzle platformer Trine has been offered up by Impulse for 50% off through this weekend. This brings the price down to a very agreeable $10.
The fantasy action game has players creating and using physics based-objects to solve puzzles and defeat enemies, offering three completely different characters to use at any available time.
Trine is out now for both PC and PS3, with the Impulse sale going through the end of January 31. Check out our review of the title here and our interview with developer Frozenbyte here.
Though the game doesn’t release until next Tuesday, Nimblebit’s indie kart racer Zero Gear has released an update that can be downloaded by those who pre-ordered and have access to the beta.
If you’re unaware, those who buy the game before its release on January 12 get a 25% discount off the total price along with early access to the vehicle combat racing game. If you do have the beta set-up on Steam the update will begin when you restart the client. Full change log after the break.
Sakari Indie has announced that its cartoon-style third-person shooter Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood has been given the Steamworks treatment, adding 18 new achievements to the title.
In the title you assume the role of a last-standing Legionnaire taking on an entire rebel army. Toting a small campaign with various objectives, such as defending civilians, escorting a tourist bus and a ‘mass-chicken-murder’ map. The game also includes a ranking system that allows you to unlock new outfits, accessories and of course new weapons.
Oh I forgot to mention the best part, the game has been given the Steam holiday sale treatment as well, big time. The typically $7 title is available for only $1.40 through January 3.
Nimbly Games’ aerial combat title Altitude has landed on Steam, and what’s better $5 cheaper than expected, at least for a limited time. The action indie is getting a 33% discount from its originally announced price of $15 through December 11 via the digital distribution leader.
The multiplayer heavy game boasts several modes that bring what the developer describes as a deep and rewarding experience hidden in an old-school arcade game. Just looking at it reminds me of Rocket Riot, which certainly lived up to its name. The games may or may not have similar gameplay, but certainly RR brought that deep multiplayer experience Nimbly Games claims Altitude provides.
Altitude is available on Steam now for slightly under $10.
