Indie Royale’s ‘April Fools Bundle’ Is Now Live

The pre-order stage is over and now Indie Royale‘s April Fools Bundle is on sale, but what games are contained within this time?

For the next six days and counting, you can pick up five indie games from Indie Royale’s April Fools Bundle at a very cheap price. As always, the minimum price of this bundle fluctuates according to how much people are paying for it – go over the minimum and you’ll drop the price for everyone else and vice versa. If you do go over the minimum you’ll receive some bonuses as well though!

Let’s have a look at what’s up for grabs in this latest iteration of the bundle then:

• Hack, Slash, Loot (Windows, Mac, Linux)
• Alien Zombie Megadeath (Windows)
• Explodemon (Windows)
• BONUS: Astro Tripper (Windows)

As previously stated, go over the minimum price and you’ll also receive Sexy Synthesizer’s “Japanese ’80s-style chip album” Rock: Deluxe Edition. Those who pre-ordered the bundle will also receive this bonus automatically.

The chaps at Indie Royale are at it again. After trailblazing its way into the indie bundle domain over the last few months, they’re now continuing where they left off with the Ninja Lightning Pack by offering yet another indie-supported box of tricks.

The April Fools Bundle, set for release “soon”, can now be pre-ordered at the official Indie Royale site for a minimum of $3.99 USD. As with the recent ‘Ninja’ bundles that have cropped up via Indie Royale in recent times, the contents are, as yet, shrouded in mystery, but we’re fortunate enough to have been left a few clues.

First of all, there’s a Windows-based tower-defense game, featuring a brand new expansion pack. Does that sound like Defense Grid, complete with the upcoming Borderlands add-on?

You’ll also get a “retro turn-based dungeon crawler”, available for Windows and Mac on Steam, as well as Windows and Linux on Desura. It’s rumoured to be Cardinal Quest, described on its own site as “an arcade-style dungeon-crawler inspired by 1980s classics”.

Next up are two different titles from the same developer, one of which is described as a “platformer shooter”, with the other cited as “a gloriously intense shoot-em-up experience”. Chances are we could be looking at Alien Zombie Megadeath and Astro Tripper respectively, both courtesy of PomPom Games.

Rounding off the pack is “an incendiary 2D action platfomer”, widely believed to be the quaint and quirky Explodemon!

Those who pre-order the bundle, along with those who pay over the average price once the it’s live, will also receive a downloadable version of Sexy Synthesizer’s Rock: Deluxe Edition album, available in .FLAC and .mp3 formats.

UPDATE: Some of the titles in the April Fools Bundle are said to be popping up prematurely in the Desura accounts of individuals who have already pre-ordered the bundle. If this screenshot is anything to go by, each of the rumoured games appear to be accurate except Cardinal Quest, whose place will apparently be taken by Hack, Slash, Loot.
