Summer has arrived. To help players keep their financial cool, indie developers are banding together to create some great game bundles! This is the second bundle announced this week. The games end up costing less than $1 each, which is pretty damn amazing.
There are six titles in the bundle:
- Citeremis’s Aztaka (RPG platformer reviewed here)
- Ovolo Games’ City Rain (Tetris + Sim City game reviewed here)
- Pieces Interactive’s Puzzlegeddon (puzzle brawler)
- Ludosity Interactive’s Bob Came in Pieces (puzzle game reviewed here)
- Different Pixel’s Vizati (puzzler)
- Pixel Pickle’s Lylian Paranoid Friendship (action/adventure game featured here)
Without further ado, here’s a comprehensive trailer of the games for sale.
David Amador, from Different Pixel stated, ”We’re making this effort to raise the money to finance our next project ideas–which could lead to even bigger ‘bundle pack’ deals.”
Interested gamers can order the six pack on the official Indie Games Pack website for $10, and the order page gives gamers the chance to share the news on Facebook for a $5 discount. Positech and other indies offered a great indie bundle earlier this week, which is still available.
We like all kinds of indie whether it’s games, movies, music, or anything else for that matter. Luckily for us, the guys over at Yawma.net have put together a spiffy new package deal offering a great indie game with some funky indie music, each of whom come from Sweden.
The Swedish Bundle of Joy Sale is available right now and features Ludosity Interactive’s Bob Came in Pieces as well as FantomenK’s The Massacre LP. I can’t comment directly on the album (it sounds like electronic music), but Bob Came in Pieces was a fun platformer/puzzle-type game that our own Peter Eykemans reviewed not too long ago.
Both can be had now for the incredibly low price of $5.00 for a limited time. Enjoy!

Can you believe Bob Came in Pieces came to us in pieces six months ago? It seems like only yesterday…regardless, to celebrate the game’s half-birthday Ludosity has released a new update that brings several new maps and gamepad support. Now you can use an Xbox 360 controller, or any other compatible gamepad of your choosing, to play.
The content addition includes four new VR Missions and a new Sandbox level, which added onto the existing areas brings the total to 25 levels. That translates to what the developer surmises to be between 5-10 hours to complete the game from beginning to end.
The full length title is currently available for $9.99 and is also being offered for a limited time (through July 4) in the quite excellent five-game Northern Lights Indies bundle on Steam for $20 down from $55. The update can be had automatically via Impulse, no word on other outlets or a manual patch as of yet.
From the Impulse description and from Ludosity’s blog:
Ludosity’s physics-based puzzle game, Bob Came in Pieces, has been updated to v1.50 today. Available now to all registered Impulse customers, this new update contains support for gamepads and many new maps.
Not only has Bob turned 6 months, but he’s also very close to version 1.5!
We’re wrapping on the next free DLC now, and everything is moving along quite nicely. With four brand new VR Missions and a new, fun Sandbox level, Bob Came In Pieces has now a total of 25 levels, easily clocking in well over 5 hours even for the experienced player, and more likely 10 hours to play the game from beginning to end.
Also new is the long awaited Gamepad support! We now have official support for Xbox 360 Controller, and any old gamepad should work really.
It’s an unusually fantastic weekend for indie sales, what’s unusual for us is that it all comes from one outlet. Yes, Steam is having one of its semi-annual blowout sales that sees the vast majority of games in the digital distributor’s catalog discounted somewhere between nice and blatantly absurd, including over 60 indie offerings. Let’s highlight some of the biggest and best, as well as some of the other sites (yes, there are other sales going on this weekend.) Another thing to note about the Steam sales, these go through the 4th of July, but there are also ridiculously cheap daily deals that we’ll have to miss here, though I must mention Galcon Fusion for $2.50 until tomorrow morning!
Out of the many offerings available, Sacraboar at 90% off would seem to take the cake, the well received $20 tile is now $2. Altitude is 66% off at $3.40, AI War carries the same 66% discount as does its expansion. Chains is 75% off at just $1.24, Invent4′s Bad Rats: the Rats Revenge is $0.95 down from $5. Puzzle game Quantz is $2.50 down from $10, Super Laser Racer is $1.25, the list goes on.
Looking to save a bundle on a bundle? Steam’s offering several at big discounts including:
Introversion Complete Pack for $5 (87% off) – Packs Darwinia, Multiwinia, Uplink and Defcon.
Action Indie Pack for $6.24 (75% off) – Packs Larva Mortus, Penguins Arena: Sedna’s World, RIP – Trilogy, Space Trader: Merchant Marine and Tank Universal.
Puzzle Indie Pack for $3.74 (75% off) – Packs Chains, Gumboy – Crazy Adventures, Obulis and Vigil: Blood Bitterness.
Northern Lights Indies for $20 (64% off) – Packs Blueberry Garden, Bob Came in Pieces, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Plain Sight and Saira. That’s a quality bundle of games right there.
Summer Indie Action Pack for $20 (60% off) – Packs Aaaah! A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, Gridrunner Revolution, Metal Drift, Starscape and Zombie Driver.
Maybe most importantly Steam also offers 50% off on almost every big indie title you can think of over the past couple of years with titles including (just to name a few): Machinarium, Zeno Clash, Trine, Cogs, Eufloria, Gratuitous Space Battles, Time Gentleman/Ben There, Dan That and much more. If you were waiting for any of the various titles we mention on this site to go down in price its more than worth your time to browse through the list and pick up some wonderful games at amazing prices.
Impulse carries a lone independent sale with Zoetrope Interactive’s Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage for $18 instead of its standard $30, a 40% discount.
Direct2Drive also gets in the mix with Kerberos Productions Fort Zombie for 75% off, bringing the title down to $2.50.
After a bit of a hiatus (newborn + E3 = bizzay) we’re back with a weekend jammed full of glorious indie sales, let’s see what you’re dollar can reach today (all sales go through Sunday, June 20 unless otherwise noted):
Impulse brings a couple of deals this weekend, CID The Dummy has been marked down to $3.50 from the already low price of $5. Skyscraper Simulator goes for $16.34, a solid discount from its standard $27.24 tag.
Over on Steam Dark Water Studios’ recently released flying action game DogFighter has been released carrying a 25% discount–now $12.74 instead of $17–which ends the same time as the rest of these offers. RPG Numen: Contest of Heroes has passed its one week launch discount period, but as of this writing still carries the 10% discount offered.
Seems like it is every week GamersGate has Bob Came in Pieces for 50% off, as it does again this time around. Paradox’s RTS Perimeter: Emperor’s Testament is 60% off and is now $4 instead of $10. Wadjet Eye Games’ Puzzle Bots has been given a 10% pre-order discount as well.
Note to Direct2Drive: Where’s the love?
As always, if you know of any independent sales going on that we missed please comment or email: erik[dot]johnson[at]diygamer[dot]com.
What are you bringing to the table this time around for Indie Sales? Does a deal have to lure you? Or are you sitting there with $10, deciding on whether to get one big game discounted or a couple of smaller ones. You have your options my friend.
The savings are swell this run around the course, and we have everything from sword sims, to tactical RTS, to gravity-light shooters and more. Take a look around and pull the metaphorical trigger on whatever deal fits.

Steam also lists CINEMAX, s.r.o.’s RPG Numen: Contest of Heroes at 10% off for its launch week.
This week we had to scour every corner of the web to dig up enough sales, but as it turns out, those discounts we did find are heavy. Starting from 50% off and up to a name your price option, were in the high rollers room tonight.
Most of the offers end before the weekend so we’ll be back then to update on the new offerings on Friday.

The Lunar Pack almost ‘pay what you want’ sale offers up Boss Baddie title’s Wake and Lunnye Devitsy for any price you want as long as it’s at least £1 GBP (around $1.20), Geoff touches on it in more detail.

We all love those awesome indie game bundles that ask you to pay whatever you feel like paying, right? I mean, who doesn’t? We usually get 4-5 great, awesome games for a price that is easily manageable for the average gamer, especially when many of these great indie games are priced at $15-$20. It’s much easier to swallow $30-$50 (I’m being generous, I know) for the lot of them rather than the combined price of $100+. Still, that doesn’t mean all indie game bundles are legit.
Case and point, a new indie games bundle that is promising a lot of 6 games for a “whatever you want” price, but has not been delivering either the games to the people ordering the product, nor have they been giving a piece of the profits to the developers. Here are the games involved:
Aztaka
Bob Came in Pieces
Kingdom Elemental Tactics
Gravitron 2
Bridge Construction Set
PutUp
So far, both the developers of Bob Came in Pieces and Gravitron 2 have come out and acknowledged to IndieGames.com that they do not condone nor support this bundle, however they are giving copies of their game to anybody who purchased the bundle but has not received any sort of download.
And before you ask, no I will not be linking to this bundle until I get confirmation of its legitimacy from some of the developers involved. I’ve already contacted a couple of the involved developers about this to see if they, in addition to the developers mentioned above, condone this “sale”.
For now, if your at all curious about the games involved please follow the links above to legitimate distribution websites.
We’ll update as we get more information.
Just dropping by quickly to let you know what’s going on with those discounted indie games this weekend. The major digital distributors provide the lion share of the oomph today, but if you know of any developers running their own personal sales, please comment or email them over so we can add them to the list. Oh, and on that note: remember that Jason Rohrer’s pay pretty much what you want sale for Sleep is Death is still going on.
On Steam, Altitude, Killing Floor and Madballs are all 50% off to celebrate Mac releases (you can play the games on either OS.) Quantz is still $3, Flotilla is a dollar off, and a ton of RailWorks DLC is on sale at a variety of discounted prices.
Impulse has a nice discount for the just released RPG Eschalon: Book II that I touched on here, taking the $25 title down to just $18.72 through the weekend, Bob Came in Pieces is 50% off at $5.
GamersGate has the same 50% off deal for Altitude and 25% off of Max and the Magic Marker throwing in both PC and Mac copies of the games. Puzzle Bots gets a slight pre-order discount as well.
