Popular iOS Terraria-like Jack Jack Teased for Mac, PC

Junk Jack was a game that we were very impressed with when it became available for Apple’s line of iOS systems due to its Terraria-like sidescrolling gameplay and Minecraft aesthetics. Now, according to a recent blog post by PixBits (the developers) is looks like we might be seeing Junk Jack on the big screen at some point in the future.

IGN’s Indie Dev Reality Series Returns; Go Lazy 8!

I guess this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, but IGN has once again fired up its reality web series “The Next Game Boss” where they pit six indie development teams against each other in order to win a coveted spot in the IGN Open House along with $10,000 amongst other things. I’m still not sure how I feel about the show, but I’m sure it’s mostly all in good fun.

Humble Bundle For Android Launches; Includes Edge, Anomaly, Osmos, and World of Goo

It looks as though the guys at the Humble Indie Bundle aren’t content with merely offering games that work on PC, Mac and Linux as today they’ve announced a brand new bundle that’s also Android compatible. This is especially interesting because Android doesn’t employ a Steam-like service and downloading non-market apps can be a bit tricky for the uninitiated.

Apparently Indie Game: The Movie Impressed All Those Hollywood Types

Great news for the duo who created the amazing (I’m assuming) documentary Indie Game: The Movie as they have officially been recognized by the Sundance film festival for “Best Editing.” While I think most of us always knew that the movie was going to be great, we obviously have a much different perspective than many others in the nation. This kind of news is huge for everybody out there who is an aspiring game developer.

Golden Axe-Like Beat ‘Em Up, Barbarian Battle Quest, Looks Fun

I received an email yesterday about a small indie game called Barbarian Battle Quest. Nothing grandiose. No press release. No screenshots or epic trailer. Just a developer interested in showing off his game. His awesome, retro-styled, Golden Axe-like, beat ‘em up that shows an enormous amount of potential. Yeah, that’s a lot of adjectives.

Will Fight For Food Launches From The Turnbuckle, Dropkicks A Mini Demo Onto Desura

Post titles are a natural breeding ground for misguided metaphors, I’ll admit. Simply put: Pyrodactyl Games have recently made available a downloadable demo of their latest project, Will Fight For Food. This is being provided through the Desura marketplace in advance of its upcoming release on Feb 29th. Described as a ‘Role Playing Brawler’, you’ll be cast as an ex-wrestler fallen on hard times on a quest for revenge and, one assumes, some stable accommodation. This is street life, people, only with less Randy Crawford and little more Randy Savage.

Terry Cavanagh’s Newest Game, ChatChat, Turns You Into a Cat

Terry Cavanagh always has the best ideas when it comes to micro indie games. VVVVVV was damn near perfect in its simplicity. His newest game, ChatChat, isn’t ripe with puzzles nor is it trying to be anything more than it is right now: a game where you are a cat. Oh and did I mention that it was a pseudo-MMO for your browser? Because it is…

Ludosity Releases New Trailer for Zelda-like Ittle Dew

It seems like Ludosity has been cranking away for forever on their newest game Ittle Dew, a delightful looking Zelda-like that will be released piecemeal, episode by episode. The game was originally announced back in February of 2011 and, since then, all we’ve seen are a few trailers. Great looking trailers, mind you, but trailers nonetheless.
