GDC 2010: Miegakure Preview

Simple, right? The answer is yes and no. I think my best description would call it a multi-storied game, in which each story is a [...]

Broken [...]

The nominations have been listed since January, but it wasn’t until this very evening that the awards and prizes were handed out. There really isn’t a bad game in all of the selections, so it’s tough to break out one from another. I’ll be continuing my previews of all of these titles for the next [...]

Meet the Torontron, put together by indie games advocacy group The Hand Eye Society, the masterpiece is an arcade cabinet retrofitted to play a half dozen games made by indie developers from Toronto. The apparatus debuted at Canadian Zine fair Canzine earlier this month, where the group showed it off at the event’s Artcade portion [...]

IGF 2010 Gets Record Number of Entrants

A record 306 entries were submitted to the Independent Games Festival 2010 main competition. 306! This past year saw 224 entries which was the first time the total ever broke 200, so to jump nearly 100 entries in only a year is quite exciting. The interest in both creating and playing indie’s is clearly on the rise.
These [...]
