The Boston Festival of Indie Games is coming up really soon. Like, “this weekend” soon. IGM will have a man on the ground at the show, so expect some in-depth coverage of all the festivities next week. For now though the folks running the show have announced the 36 games that comprise the Digital Game Showcase including point and click adventure games Resonance by Wadjet Eye and XII Games, and Phoenix Online Studios‘ Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, TestTubeGames charming puzzler Agent Higgs, and Retro Affect’s recently released action/puzzler Snapshot.
Aside from those listed above, many other big and semi-big names in the indie games market have their work represented as well like Owlchemy Labs (Snuggle Truck, Super Ramen BROTHers) CloudKid (educational software), Rust, LTD (experimental game collective) and two separate games by 82 Apps (New World Colony)
A few of the games in the showcase have already been released, but its a good bet that there are at least a couple you haven’t played yet. Winning a showcase award from a festival like this can be a huge boost to a small developer, so congratulations are in order for the 36 finalists, and best of luck to all.
A few of the titles that will be in the showcase this weekend have already been reviewed by IGM. The games we have reviewed are listed below along with their score, with each linking to the relevant review.
You can head over to the official site at www.bostonfig.com to see the full list, complete with short descriptions of all of the games, as well as info on the other activities at the festival and free registration for the show.
The Boston Festival of Indie Games is scheduled for 10:00am to 10:00pm Saturday, September 22.
