Zeboyd Releases XBLIG Sales For Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World

Well it appears XBLIG developers are in a sharing mood this week, with Going Loud Studios’ Ben Kane releasing 2011 sales for this games yesterday and now Zeboyd Games releaseing their entire XBLIG sales history to date for both of its two titles on the channel. I gotta say, I know that revealing sales information is a very private issue, but getting a look at XBLIG sales info, specifically, really helps us see the inside picture.

In any case, it appears as if the games did alright, for XBLIG standards anyways. To date Breath of Death VII has sold 56,286 copies on XBLIG with 80,137 being trials (70.24% conversion rate). Cthulhu Saves the World, however, has sold a total of 24,920 copies with 57,910 trials (43.03% conversion rate).

Interestingly enough the lower sales volume of Cthulhu Save the World is kind of shocking considering that to many it was considered to be much better, not to say Breath of Death VII wasn’t good (it certainly was!). Then again its $3 price tag as opposed to $1 may have had something to do with that.

To put this all into perspective, at a $3 price point a bundle consisting of both games was released on Steam on July 13th, 2011 and has since gone on to sell over 100,000 copies. More than both XBLIG versions combined in less than half the time, a quarter of the time for BoDVII. Not including the Indie Royale bundle they were included in either.

Very interesting and, if anything, simply paints a darker picture for Xbox Live Indie Games.
