Stained Trailer Unveils Sidescrolling Platformer with Glass Monsters

The early news rush continues this morning with India-based indie developer RealAxis Software revealing their sidescrolling platformer (platforming sidescroller?) Stained with an announcement video. A short trailer that shows off both a thematically dark and visually vibrant game, with the unique idea of creatures made out of stained glass out to impede your exploring of an ancient, mysterious castle.

The title is being developed entirely with open-source software, boasting detailed 3D environments and a continually changing game world. Real Axis provides their one paragraph pitch:

Stained is a mystery woven around visuals, sound and an exciting gameplay experience. The setting – a supernatural, giant, sprawling castle, in an unknown, uninhabited planet devoid of life for untold centuries with an evil lurking inside which has a deeply rooted need to protect itself from any intruders. If anyone breaks its precious things, like its stained glass windows, the castle turns against him. The shattered pieces come alive; forming monstrosities with an only aim – ‘TO KILL’.

Stained is set for a PC release sometime early on this year. Definitely have a look if it’s in your ballpark genre-wise (and skip ahead about thirty seconds if you want to jump right into the in-game stuff):
