SOPA/PIPA Delayed Indefinitely; We Still Want Developer Opinions!

A huge victory today for those who want a free and open Internet as both SOPA and PIPA have been shelved indefinitely. This coming two days after the largest Internet black out protest ever with sites like Wikipedia, Reddit and others shutting down entirely for 24 hours. This is a landmark event that showcases just what the Internet can do if threatened. Groups like the RIAA, MPAA and most important the ESA should take note not to step on something bigger and stronger than they are.

So why are we talking about it here? Because we still want indie developer opinions on SOPA and PIPA. Despite the fact they’ve been shelved this is still a huge issue and there are bills being considered in many other nations around the world. This also doesn’t mean the US won’t see another one if the future, or something similar. Especially if it attempts to get passed quietly.

So, if you are an indie game developer, send us your opinion of PIPA and SOPA to geoff[at]diygamer.com with the heading “SOPA Statement.” We definitely want to hear what you think of the situation and what you think of any future bills that might get pushed through.

Oh and one last thing…

CAKE FOR THE ENTIRE INTERNET!
