A couple choice tid bits of information regarding Notch’s recently developed Ludum Dare 22 game entry: Minicraft, a game which has not only become popular but was also the most watched Ludum Dare challenge game during this last challenge. Some 2,000 people tuned in to watch him code apparently.

In any case, as the title suggests, the original Minicraft has been ported to Android by a company called Folstad Consulting. They added in some touchscreen controls with optional keyboard controls for compatible devices (Asus Transformer?). So, if you have an Android phone then check it out and let us know what you think.

In other news, Notch confirmed via Twitter that a sequel based on Minicraft will not, in fact, be called Minicraft 2 rather it will be called MiniTale. He’s even snagged the .com and .net domains for the game which, if visited, simply has a “”Coming Eventually” notice. My guess is that he’ll be devoting a bit more time into this version than he did with the original Minicraft.
