The guys at Mode 7 Games, creators of the hit turn-based strategy title Frozen Synapse, have been gradually oozing out bits of info for the game’s suddenly incoming DLC offering. With some fresh new features recently unveiled, it appears the update is shaping up to be quite substantial. Let’s go over what’s been mentioned so far.

First to cover is the implementing of Mutators, aimed to subvert some of the rules to see how it changes the overall experience. Mutators such as Double Kill, which takes both units out instead of ruling one way or another when they engage one another at exactly the same time, and Focus Aim, which is in argument for superior aim on the move against campers, are just two of the several ideas being tested. Sound good?

Well there’s a whole lot more.

The much called for modifiable clock/timer is “100% confirmed” as an upcoming feature. A Hotseat mode that lets two players on either PC or iPad versions play on the same device is said to be coming as well, and on top of all the changes, content including a new unit and six tracks (four brand new ones along with the two which were created as a Humble Bundle bonus) will be packed in–excellent news if you’re a fan of the already amazing soundtrack.

No price inklings, or release dates in mind yet. Shucks. We’re twiddling our thumbs impatiently for this sweet little add-on.
