Playdead’s critically acclaimed and wholly distressing sidescrolling adventure game Limbo (another good game with featuring nasty, huge arachnids) had already made its way onto Steam for PC back in August after being an XBLA-exclusive for what seemed like an eternity. Now several months after that, Mac owners finally get the opportunity to get in on all that tense puzzle platforming action with an OS X version just added to Valve’s platform.
As is the standard for PC/Mac (SteamPlay) titles on the digital distributor, if the game is purchased for one platform you also get a copy for the other as well. Also note that this isn’t the first Mac version to become available, as the MacAppStore has carried the title for nearly a month now. However purchasing from there won’t net you the PC version or those precious Steam achievements.
At just $10, I wouldn’t even suggest waiting around for a sale if you’re new to the game. It’s well worth the price of admission, and really something you should already have in your repertoire at this point (should you consider yourself a savvy indie gamer.)
