So this could, quite possibly, be the most interesting bit of news we write about all week. Apparently, a few ambitious Minecraftian developers have set upon the popular block-building game to recreate one of the most lauded games ever in history: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. And it appears they’ve just finished the map…
Here’s a bit about the game from the developers:
Hyrulecraft is a 1:1 scale replica of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, in Minecraft! With the alpha map already available as a download, the project has now entered stage 2. The HC team hopes to have a completed server ready later this year which will include a unique Minecraft MMO experience including quests, NPCs, dungeons, free build zones, guilds, and more of the classic Minecraft stuff you know and love.
Wow, very ambitious! As you can tell this goes beyond a mere map recreation as the developers are looking to put in some serious game into what’s already a very impressive map.
The current map/game in its current form took the developers 9 months to build and plan. There’s no due date on the additional content.
For those who want to experience the server themselves you can jump on at:
Otherwise you can simply download the map and play it in your own world.
We’ll be following this one very closely as it develops.
