A Game After My Own Heart: Retro Arcade Adventure

Retro Arcade Adventure. Let that title just roll around in your mouth for a little bit. Think about what it means. No, wait, there’s no need for any of that because we know exactly what it means right away. Retro Arcade Adventure is, as the title not-so-subtly suggests, is a retro arcade adventure title… and that just sounds amazing to me.

Why? Because, for those that don’t know I’m a huge retro gaming fan. I even launched a new site a few weeks ago all about retro games and the community surrounding the scene called AgedGamer.com. One of the main reasons why I love indie games so much is because so many of them hearken back to a time when gaming was, in my opinion, simply better.

But enough about my personal ideologies… let’s talk about Retro Arcade Adventure!

Developed by SIACTRO, Retro Arcade Adventure is a fairly simple game with an overtly 8-bit look and feel to it in remembrance of gaming’s simpler days. I don’t know too much but based on the trailer the game looks pretty simple and arcady with you simply fighting off hordes of enemies big and small in various arenas. Not unlike Smash TV, actually although with a sword not a gun.

Retro Arcade Adventure is set to launch on XBLIG soon with a PC version coming later. No word on pricing, but I’d be surprised if it were more than 80 MS points ($1). Check out the trailer below!

I’ll be sure to check out the game for AgedGamer’s Retro Remix series when it releases.
