Hot on the news of some certain XBLIG changes, comes a rather exciting announcement from Zeboyd Games with regards to their most recent RPG: Cthuhu Saves the World. The title is now 80 MS Points, or $1, on the Xbox Live Indie Games channel. This was not possible before under Microsoft’s rather strict pricing requirements which required Cthulhu Saves the World be at least 240 MS Points ($3).
In other Lovecraftian themed RPG news, the game is also set to appear on a wide array of new platforms including the iPhone, iPad, Android and the Mac OSX. This is being done in partnership with developer Tinkerhouse Games, developers of The Airhornsman and Current, both of which are available on the iOS app store now.
“It still boggles my mind that a random thought of mine while I was waiting for an appointment one day – hey, wouldn’t it be funny if Cthulhu was a hero in a Japanese-style RPG – is now an actual game that people are playing and enjoying. With this new price drop on XBLIG and the game coming to new platforms later this year, I hope even more people will be able to experience the weird adventures of Cthulhu, his own personal fangirl Umi, and the rest.”
Sounds good to me! I wonder if we’ll also eventually see Breath of Death VII come to the various mobile platforms.
If you’ve yet to check out the game, now would be a great time to.
