And Then There Were Soundtracks: The Humble Indie Bundle 4 Bonus

Most of you are probably wondering what goodies the Humble Bundle folks were going to add their latest and greatest entry. It would be hard to put something up that rivaled this selection of games, after all. So, they made a pretty good decision: soundtracks to all the games in the bundle. I can’t think of a better addition to these incredible games than the phenomenal soundtracks that were the essence of their respective atmospheres.

If you’re inexplicably still on the fence about this bundle, I imagine this latest addition should dip your hand into your wallet. These are some of the finest soundtracks in indie gaming. You’ll be getting Super Meat Boy’s soundtrack (which is still one of my favorite soundtracks of all time) and it’s the work of soundtrack master Danny Baranowsky. Let it be said that anything Danny Baranowsky does is worth your time and your money. There’s also Matt Harwood’s amazing Bit.Trip Runner soundtrack, which will no doubt bring a smile to your face with its upbeat 8-bit goodness. It even features music by legendary chiptune band Anamanaguchi! Then you can depart from the happy rainbow world of Bit.Trip and enjoy the gritty mix of Latin, rock and revenge in  Jason Garner and Vince Vera’s Shank soundtrack. There’s also a faithful tribute to the golden age of 16-bit, provided by Francisco LaCerda for Jamestown. And there’s more old-school nostalgia with Daisuke Amaya’s enhanced Cave Story soundtrack. You can take it up a notch with Jesse Hopkins’ epic, symphonic space tunes in the soundtrack for Gratuitous Battles. And finally you get to relax with Chris Schlarb’s beautiful, ambient NightSky soundtrack. This is another one of my personal favorites, and it always mellows me out completely.

These soundtracks could be a bundle on their own (and they may well be in the future), so it you haven’t gotten the Humble Bundle 4 already, I think you have more than enough good reasons. If not, tis the season to be jolly, so give a code to a buddy.
