Good news! Mommy’s Best Games, developers of such great indie games as Explosionade, Serious Sam Double D, Shoot 1UP and others, has released a new Xbox Live Indie Game! The bad news? You probably won’t be able to find it due to Microsoft’s new dashboard.
The game is, of course, a side-scrolling shmup, as most of Mommy’s Best Games are so you should feel right at home as you help Hoodie Girl defeat the evil “MediaBall.” Yeah, it’s a weird one folks.
The game also comes with 2-player co-op and some leaderboards. Really all of the stuff you’d expect out of a shmup game.
The big news here though isn’t so much the game, but rather the not so subtle jab at Microsoft’s new dashboard which has further buried the Xbox Live Indie Game channel. At the beginning of the game you have to go though a mock-Xbox dashboard and find the game, once again, to even begin playing. Quite an inventive protest, if you ask me.
Game Type is available right now for 80 MS Points. I recommend checking it out if, for nothing else, than the beginning. Otherwise, it’s bound to be a solid shmup.
