Fez Rated By PEGI; One Step Closer to Release

Wow, I honestly thought I would never be writing about a game classification here on DIYGamer. I mean, it’s just not something we typically have to do with indie games. Fez, however, is different and the fact that it’s been rated by somebody is actually pretty huge.

You see, the game has been in development for over 4 years now. If there was ever a Duke Nukem equivalent (in development time not quality) in the indie game world it would probably be Fez as the game has been covered, religiously, by almost all gaming outlets including our own only to have to suffer through delay after delay.

But with today’s PEGI rating dropping (it got an “Everybody” rating by the way, or equivalent there of.) that means the game is done essentially. Which means it will get released. Which means we’ll be playing it… soon! Granted nothing is official this side of the Atlantic until the ESRB chimes in, but still this is progress!

Another odd thing to note is that the PEGI site has the release date as today, which is incorrect. Fez’s actual release date is still unknown with only a vague 2012 window given.
