Bundle Bundle Bundle? Bundle! Get Games Get In On The Action

If you repeat a word enough times, it just loses all meaning. ‘Bundle’ is pretty close to hitting that point, but given the mountainous piles of games this year has given us in the form of charity-boosted pay-what-you-want sales, it’s hard to do more than comically gripe. As revealed in this press release, this December 14th Eurogamer (via their new storefront, Get Games) are rolling out their own charitable indie discount bundle – the littleBIGbunch – and it’s a very impressive lineup.

It’s an eclectic bunch of games, but you can’t fault it for quality. For the second time this year, Mode 7 Games’ award-winning tactics game Frozen Synapse is getting a pay-what-you-want format release. The pointedly mental Serious Sam: Double D is also in on the action, showing the world what Mommy’s Best Games can do when they’re given a larger license to play with. Curve Studios are upping the ante with the SNES-esque Explodemon, and sports fans aren’t being neglected either with New Star Games’ minigame-packed, semi-satirical football sim New Star Soccer 5. Topping off this impressive bundle is the recently HD’ified port of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, polished up to modern spec by Just Add Water.

They’ve got the charity angle sewn up here, too. Partnering up with GamesAid, a UK-based organization that handles general charitable donations from around the games industry, and funnels it into a wide range of children’s and young people’s charities, along with running its own events. It’s a laudable step and looks to be a respectable place for the charity takings to go, even if the roots of the bundle are in finding profitability for indie developers, rather than raw altruism.
