Brick-Force Promises Minecraft-like Building With FPS Competitive Multiplayer

So here’s an interesting game for you guys to follow. Brick-Force is a currently in development (soon to be launched in beta) Minecraft-like game but with a decidedly FPS multiplayer shooter feel to it. Really, it’s very similar to other Minecraft-like Ace of Spades, but with graphics that are a bit easier on the eye… I’ll probably regret that when the AoS community gets word of this.

In any case, developed by German developer Infernum, Brick-Force looks delightfully charming and is supposed to be free to play upon release, although I’m not sure of any stipulations or “catches” beyond that.

Here’s a bit about the game itself:

Brick-Force is the world’s first cross-platform free-to-play sandbox fun-shooter. It will be released in spring 2012. Build and share maps on your smartphone, your tablet, your browser and social networks – you can play anywhere and anytime.

Apparently the game will use the Unity3D engine which will enable it to be played cross platform across tablets, the browser and PC.

You can register for the beta today, although it’s not open just yet so you’ll have to wait for your invite. Still, what’s seen in the trailer, below, is pretty damned impressive. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
