VVVVVV Update Inbound

Everybody’s favourite gravity flipping tough-as-nails platformer has got a new patch on the way, with a selection of new content and features, expanding what was already a complete package. Here’s what to expect with the next version of VVVVVV.

They’ve added seven new levels, highlights from the user levels created with the free editor (which has also had a series of updates). It’s also got built in controller support now, and a brand new opengl mode (which allows the use of the Steam overlay and fraps).

There’s tonnes of bugfixes and more. See this forum post by programmer Simon Roth for more detail.

The beta version of the patch is here, but Simon tells me that the final version is “a hell of a lot better and less glitchy”. The update will be available from all the places you’d expect, fairly soon.

If you’ve not yet fell in love with Terry Cavanagh’s wonderful little platformer that could, you can get it from here. Check out our review for more.
