I’m not really sure if we can consider this “indie” or not considering that it’s Stardock which is a rather large company (I think). But regardless, they released a game onto Xbox Live Indie Games and, well, that’s good enough for me dammit!

So yes, you read that right, Stardock the world-famous anti-DRM PC-exclusive developer has released an Xbox Live game. PC fanboys can now cry themselves into a dreamlike world of graphic cards and CPU processing speeds… the rest of us will head on over to our Xbox 360s and check out what they have to offer.

The game is essentially a retro-stylized co-op adventure side-scroller. Here’s the official story/description:

The North Pole is in trouble and only you can save Christmas in ELFSQUAD7! Go solo or team up with family and friends in this co-op holiday adventure as you wrap toys, stuff Santa’s sack, demolish freakish un-toys, and battle Kevin – the haywire toy-building robot of the North.

This is retro gaming at it’s most festive, so charge up those Xbox360® controllers and ready the milk and cookies…it’s time to save Christmas!

And a feature set:

• Wrap-and-Grab gameplay: collect enough gifts before time runs out
• 3 levels of difficulty, each with 6 unique stages
• Play solo, or enjoy frantic 2-4 player co-op!
• 6 different holiday heroes to pick from (and 2 hidden heroes to unlock)
• Buy item and weapon power ups to ensure victory
• Only 80 Microsoft Points
• Buy it on the Xbox360 Indie Channel

The game is available right now for Xbox Live Indie Games at a scant 80 MS Points ($1). All in all, the trailer makes a convincing argument for a purchase. Check it out below!
