Saving Fairy Tales and Legends in a new MMO: The Missing Ink

UK-based indie devs RedBedlam are on the verge of unveiling their Alpha for The Missing Ink in December, and it looks to be a ton of fun. The Missing Ink is an MMORPG set in a world inhabited by the fairy tales and legends we grew up with: the big bad wolf, knights in shining armor, star-crossed lovers, and the like. Except, in this world, something seems to have gone very wrong. In the words of the developers themselves:

“The knight in shining armour has gone missing and the damsel in distress is really quite happy with her lot.  The star-crossed lovers aren’t interested, the big bad wolf has eaten some very dodgy magic beans and nobody can find the Emperor’s new clothes anywhere.”

Each of these stories have been corrupted. Surely enough, the players will come in to do all sorts of questing and ‘dungeoneering” to rid the world of the strange corruption. In the meantime, they will also create their own environments and virtual worlds to share with other players. More details on how this will be done should surface in the coming months, as RedBedlam aims to launch Beta in early 2012 and be done with the game in the third quarter of the same year.

At the moment, all you need to know is that it looks fantastic and funny, and that it will be free-to-play and available on PC and Mac. Here, check out this trailer while you wait for another (almost) year.
