The Rise of Minecraft, An Infographic

Infographics are nice. They supply us with a great deal of information using visual niceties that can often be boring when presented in a wall of text like… ahem… what you’re reading now. In any case, mere hours ahead of MineCon’s official launch we have a Minecraft infographic that spells out a large portion of Minecraft’s upward history.

The infographic only starts at June 2010 so you’re not getting a full on history lesson here. That said, there’s some neat tidbits of information like the fact that on June 1st, 2010 Notch quit his day job to work full time on Minecraft. That was something I never even realized.

It also goes on to mark important dats and areas of interest, like the first time PC Gamer interviewed Notch and the resulting affect on the games sales.

Really the infographic is just a nice way to show the last year and a half of what we already know: that Minecraft is a great success story.

Congratulations Notch!
