The history books of the future will surely paint November 2011 as a grim time, when indie gamers died by the thousands, freezing in the streets after being drained of every last penny by their maniacal developer overlords. Perhaps the chapter illustration will feature a jolly, hatted Swedish man riding atop a golden cuboid pig. This terrible siege continues today – yet another Indie Royale bundle is upon us. Brace yourselves.

Another day, another bundle, another five great indie games for a pittance. This time, we’re looking an an impressively eclectic grab-bag of games and genres. Semi-abstract shmups, ambient RTS, Fantasy Poker and Lovecraft Parody JRPG are all represented here, with more goodies sure to come at various sales points. As with all the other Indie Royales, prices will steadily creep upwards, although generous buyers will force the minimum price down for everyone else. Get in now if you want it cheap, but keep an eye on the price if you’re looking for a bargain later.

Really Big Sky by Boss Baddie is a rather nifty neo-retro shmup. Twinstick/M&KB style controls but with a minimalist psychedelic aesthetic and a focus on bullet evasion and drilling your way through planets. The trailer is a bit out of date, too – since launch the game has gotten a variety of upgrades and additions, and so it earns its place as the game with top billing today.

Runespell Overture is the real odd one out of this bunch. Epic fantasy poker battles, kinda like Puzzle Quest if it was played with cards instead of being a match-4 puzzler. The production values are pretty high on this, and I’ve been meaning to try it for some time. No excuse not to now, eh?

Cthulhu Saves The World and Breath Of Death VII barely need an introduction around here. An absurdly charming pair of Dragon Quest-inspired 8-bit parody JRPGs, focused on H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos, and general fantasy undead stereotypes respectively. They’re simple, relatively short, and utterly compelling.

Last in today’s bundle is Eufloria. Those who have played the more recent Galcon know what to expect, but the muted pastel aesthetic and ambient soundscape really sell the concept of an abstract war for space. Control a swarm of self-replicating drones in an asteroid belt, wipe out all the other drone factions, and unite space in the name of peace, tranquility and pretty robot death-flowers.

As you can see, it’s a pretty great lineup, and easily worth the price. So, have a few dollars left over from the Steam deluge? You’ve got no excuse, then. As always, Steam and Desura activation keys are available whenever available for all games, although you can also get the games in DRM-free direct download format.
