Ah, it seems like this whole ‘Indie Royale’ thing kicked off just two weeks ago. Probably because it did. Four indie gems in a pay-what-you want bundle with a twist; the minimum price slowly crept up with each bundle sold, and dropped when someone put more money down. Well, they’re back today with four more – Nightsky, Fate Of The World, Scoregasm, and the Time Gentlemen, Please double-pack. The initial price is around the $2 mark right now, and sure to rise. If you’re short on cash, get in quick!
Like the first bundle, this is a very eclectic mix of games. NightSky is a light puzzle-platformer, Fate of The World is a crushingly tough simulation of ecological collapse and your mostly futile struggle against it, Scoregasm is an excellent twin-stick arena shooter with a particularly British, old-school sense of humor, and Time Gentlemen, Please and included prequel, Ben There, Dan That are exceptionally charming point-and-click adventure games in the vein of Lucasarts finest.
All four games are available to activate via Steam and Desura for Windows, and some are available or Mac or Linux, although not all. So, difficult in terms of gameplay? Perhaps not so much. Difficult to define this bundle? Definitely. Difficult on Indie Royale? Apparently so, as the traffic seems to have overwhelmed them, Desura and IndieDB. All games worth owning? Absolutely. Hit the link below, put down your money and rock on… once their servers start working again, that is.
Update: As of the time of writing, the entire IndieDB/ModDB/Desura/Indie Royale network has been taken down and since restored with some additional server power behind it. The sites all seem to be working fine now, and sales for the bundle are steadily rolling in.
