Looks like the leak was accurate. Hot on the heels of the thunderously successful Humble Voxatron Debut pack, the bargain-generating, part-charity titan that is the Humble Bundle return, this time offering every single game by prolific and generally excellent indie studio Introversion, all for whatever you want to pay, along with a couple of tech prototypes to play around with. Go over the average, and you get Bit-Blot’s amazing aquatic Metroidvania title Aquaria, as well as Petri Purho’s Crayon Physics Deluxe thrown in to sweeten the deal. What are you waiting for? Go grab you some indie joy.
As with all the other bundles, you get Windows, Mac and Linux versions out of this, along with Steam and Desura keys for every applicable game. The games are a pretty amazing bunch, too, with Uplink and Darwinia being exceptionally clever singleplayer titles, and Defcon and Multiwinia offering fast-paced multiplayer fun. The two multiplayer titles have never really had much of a playerbase, up til’ this point. I reckon this might change things. There’s also a small but dedicated modding/mapping scene for Darwinia, which may well see a bit of a resurgence with this re-release, too.
The ‘bonus’ games are nothing to be sneezed at, either. Aquaria was just recently re-released for the iPad, but the original PC version is still an absolute gem, offering a huge underwater world to explore, and gameplay halfway between Ecco the Dolphin and Castlevania: Symphony of The Night. Crayon Physics is an exceptionally fun little chillout puzzle game, letting you solve the challenges however you see fit, so long as you can draw up a solution.
This is an amazing pack, and Introversion need the funding. Go, do your part – for charity, and for indie gaming.
