Time for another weekly Discussionware! This time we’re going for something pretty broad and also something which I think everybody who reads this blog should at least have a passing interest in. Essentially I’d like to know who your favorite indie developer(s) is/are? What abut them inspires you so much.

Obviously this question is posed to a wide range of people involved with the indie industry. Gamers, developers, business folk…

As somebody who works in marketing I can’t help but marvel at what the guys have done at Polytron with regards to their upcoming game Fez. I’m not sure, aside from Minecraft, if there’s a single indie game that has gotten more press attention and general consumer appeal than Fez. It’s truly remarkable.

I also hold in high regard Joakim Sandberg of Konjak for not only releasing some astonishingly awesome games, but doing so at the low price of absolutely nothing.

Really though the list could go on and on with me.

So who is your favorite indie developer? What have they created? Why do you hold them in such high regard?
