AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! For The Awesome Heads Up Steam Sale

As if we weren’t already drowning in great games this month, another one pops up out of nowhere, and it’s already on sale for half price. Today marks the start of the Thanksgiving/autumn holiday sale on Steam, and each day will bring a range of new bargains. Today is special, though – Dejobaan have launched their latest surreal skydiving score-attack game at half price. Time to give thanks indeed. More info on the game, as well as other indie deals of the day after the break.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome (AFTA, as I’ll lazily abbreviate it to now) is billed as a semi-sequel to their previous release, AAAAAA, A Reckless Disregard For Gravity. What does this mean? Well, it includes most of content of the original game, albeit remastered, tweaked and tuned, along with another half-game worth of completely new content. As with the original game, it’s a simple score-attack challenge; just hurl yourself off an improbably tall sci-fi structure and avoid hitting buildings on the way down as you collect score targets and cheer/insult onlookers.

The game is going to eventually cost $10, but if you get it today (24 hours and counting from the time of writing), it’s only $5. Similarly, all of Dejobaan’s other games – including the similarly cool 1, 2, 3, Kick It – are on sale today, available as a $10 bundle pack. On a related indie note, the excellent Orcs Must Die is also in todays’ sale, but at a massive 75% discount, along with its DLC. If you’re at all on the fence, just check out our review. Those Orcs aren’t going to kill themselves.

Note that these are just the indie deals of the day – there’s a vast range of bargains – mainstream or otherwise – across the entire store right now, but these two bargains will only be hanging around for the next 24 hours. Steam have officially declared war upon our wallets. If this is just the opening salvo, I don’t think any of us will have a penny left after the dust settles. But at least we’ll have games, eh?
