Edmund hoped on the ol’ Team Meat blog this morning to announce some advancements for everybody’s favorite meaty hero: Super Meat Boy. In fact there is good news for those of us that own the game and those that don’t!
According to Edmund the first bit of good news is that starting next month the game will go on sale on Xbox Live Arcade, although an exact date and price wasn’t yet announced. Still, for those of you who are Meatboy-less, this could be your chance to jump on one of 2010’s best downloadable titles.
Second, as was promised when the game originally launched, Team Meat are bringing with the sale some more ‘Teh Internets’ levels. Those of you who bought the game way back when will remember these levels as special, often character specific, level sets that were very challenging. No word on how many “sets” will be coming as Edmund only mentions that they’ll be adding “tons of new levels” which makes me think it’s more than a single set.
Finally, for those of you in the holiday spirit, the gang is running a Halloween contest. Essentially all you have to do is dress up like something from Super Meat Boy and share it with the guys over Twitter. A few winners will then be chosen to receive all three Super Meat Boy comics (collector’s items!).
So there you have it. For a game that just celebrated its anniversary it sure does have a lot going on. We’ll update on the sale and bonus levels once we get more information.
