MagicalTimeBean Prepares Another Xbox Live Indie Hit: Escape Goat

MagicalTimeBean, developer of such Soulcaster and Soulcaster 2, has already established itself on the market as being one of the best developers making Xbox Live Indie Games. Soulcaster and its sequel are easily two of the best games available on the service and if you haven’t tried them then you’re missing out.

This post, however, is not about Soulcaster, this post is about MagicalTimeBean’s next XBLIG title: Escape Goat.

Escape Goat is a new take on puzzle platforming. Developed with a unique physics engine that allows pixel-perfect world manipulation and destruction, you must use the environment to your advantage to overcome over 50 rooms of challenges. If this isn’t enough, use the built-in level editor to create your own wicked contraptions!

The game’s trailer shows off some truly fun platforming gameplay that has you trying to escape from a dungeon because you were apparently convicted of witchcraft. Throughout the game you’ll be aided by a rat who will be able to access differing areas than your goaty self.

Also, as usual, the game revels in all it’s grand retro pixel charm similar to the Soulcaster series. So fans of sprite art should take note as this one does look particularly pixely.

Escape Goat is due in November at some point. Until then enjoy the trailer below.

UPDATE: MagicalTimeBean has confirmed via Twitter that Escape Goat will be out tomorrow.
