King of Dragon Pass Celebrates 12th Birthday With A Sale And More

King of Dragon Pass is one of the best games you could possibly have living on your shiny Apple iDevice. Don’t just take my (extensive and detailed) word for it – just check out any other site that reviews iPhone games, and you’ll see that the sentiment is nearly universal. It’s not a new game, though – in fact, the original PC version came out 12 years ago, and that’s reason to celebrate.

From today – 29th of October – and for the next week, the game is on sale for a more app-store-palatable $6, instead of the $10 it initially launched for. Coming along with that news is an announcement that many peoples main complaint with the iPhone launch – that it doesn’t support the higher resolution that the iPad offers – is being addressed, and an updated build with an iPad-optimized UI is in the works. No ETA on that, but it’s coming.

On an amusing aside, one of the most loyal and helpful beta testers of the iOS version was recently added to the game as one of the many advisors you can recruit to your ring of clan leaders. Whether she has any particular advice to give about dealing with giant homewrecking bug-monsters is yet to be seen, though.

Read more on the KoDP blog linked below, and get the game via the iTunes app store for $6.
