Fez and Johann Sebastian Joust Take Top Honors at IndieCade 2011

Last night the IndieCade 2011 award ceremony was held with all the usual pomp and circumstance. Actually I don’t really know what it’s like. The one time I was at IndieCade, I wasn’t able to attend the actual award ceremony. In any case, it was last night and it looks like we’ve got some winners!

First Fez took home the trophies for Story/World Design and “Best in Show.” Which was pretty much expected. The game has been hotly anticipated for years now (and just suffered another delay). Johann Sebastian Joust took a couple awards for itself for Best Technology and an award for impacting the community (not sure what that means).

Here is the awards breakdown:

  • Fez – Best in Show, Story/World Design
  • Johann Sebastian Joust – Best Technology, “Impacting the Community”
  • Deepak Fights Robots – Best Gameplay Design
  • Superbrothers’ Sword and Sworcery EP – Best Visuals
  • Proteus – Best Sound
  • Ordnungswissenschaft – Best Interaction
  • The Swapper – Special Recognition

Congratulations to all!

IndieCade will persist over the weekend and be open to the public in downtown Culver City for those who ant to check out some awesome games!
