Xbox Live Indie Picks: Change of Scenery Edition

The Fall of Gods: Xbox Live Indie Game of the Week!

Some of you may not yet have noticed, but yesterday it seems that Microsoft has decided to change up the Xbox Live Indie Games covers a bit. Instead of the typical white headers with “Indie Games” written on them each XBLIG title will now feature a clean sky blue header. I’m assuming this has to do with the upcoming “Metro” UI with the Fall update.

In any case, I’m digging the new look. While I don’t know if it will have any direct affect on sales, I think I prefer a world where the XBLIG titles can stand apart from their XBLA cousins. Now at least when a user is glancing over the marketplace they’ll be able to clearly see whether the game is an indie title or now.

So, yeah, expect this to be a recurring theme. Those of you will also have noticed that XBLA titles have an orange header…

Here’s your weekly XBLIG picks:

Puzzled Rabbit

Pigs Can’t Fly
(80 MS Points)

Pigs can’t fly – except in their dreams! Wallowing in mud is great and all, but sometimes you just want to soar under the stars. Feel the wind on your wings…well, strapped on wings anyway, and just let out a loud SQUEEEEEE as you zoom across the hills below, racing against the moon’s.

Tunnel Vision
(240 MS Points)

Tunnel Vision is a fast paced shooter. Tunnel Vision translates traditional 2D shooter mechanics into 3D. Traditional 2D shooters are about finding gaps in areas of relatively slowly moving bullets. Most modern 3D shooters mostly work on the mechanics of aiming and taking cover. Tunnel Vision takes the idea of complex firing patterns and slowly moving bullets into the third dimension.
