Pose for the Camera and Get Your ‘reflow’ On for iOS

Reality is so much funner when one can augment it. In xymatic’s reflow for iOS, players create a real-time camera image, and the game makes that into a black and white level. The goal is to then use anything or anyone to solve the given reflow challenges by tilting or turning the image on the phone or the subjects in the photo themselves.

It’s basically what the guy is doing in the photo, but suit and tie are optional:

There are 40 challenges on reflow to overcome. The title is compatible with iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or 4th generation iPod touch and retails for $1.99 on iTunes.

The Berlin, Germany indie studio is also working on a “massive anonymous online experience” called Synermous. Says xymatic’s blog:

“Steer an abstract critter through vast digital plains of randomness, populated with other unknown individuals up to the same task. Connect with them and use synergy-effects to master the tasks one alone could not handle. But be aware: critical mass might turn against you.”

Synermous, like reflow, sound invigorating. I’m glad to have xymatic on my radar now; how about you?
