Philadelphia based Cipher Prime Studios is famous for Auditorium and Fractal. They’ve reached beyond the hardcore computer indie scene and released to console gamers, as well. The boys’ latest effort is a unique rhythm game that was imagined specifically for the tablet market. It involves hitting notes that are placed in all sorts of fun ways around a set of rings that correspond to the music’s time signature. Players must hit the white notes when the pulse lines up with the notes.
The boys are off to a great start, as they revealed Pulse is now Apple’s iPad Game of the Week on the iTunes store. For those still not convinced of this game’s hotness, we found a great gameplay video below, which debuted at The Indie Game Magazine:
This is Cipher Prime’s largest experiment yet, in terms of variables. Check out all these firsts for Cipher Prime with Pulse from the team’s latest blog post:
- our first Unity Game
- our first self-published iOS game
- our first Music Rhythm game
- our first collaborative Music Game
- our first game with our new Team Member, Kerry Gilbert
- our first iPad game
What’s more is that Cipher Prime hopes to integrate future free playable song releases with actual indie band single releases. Check out DIY’s review of Pulse and help keep Pulse going.
