A couple updates have been released by Doctor Entertainment for Puzzle Dimension, offering up different PC and Mac patches for the casual puzzler now available for owners of the game on Steam.
The PC update carries just one item, a crash fix on startup for certain systems. The mac patch offers a bit more pizazz, with highlights including major performance improvements on legacy graphics hw and several other bug fixes, adjustments optimizations.
From the notes:
PC
- Fixed crash on startup for some systems.
Mac
- Major performance improvements on legacy graphics hw.
- Fixed render issues, such as corrupt textures, on X1600.
- Fixed potential multimedia timer error.
- Fixed potential locking error of thread synchronization primitives.
- Fixed black halo on sunflowers in Water theme.
- Reduced number of GPU interpolators required which enable accelerated paths on legacy graphics hw.
- Optimized “multiple enabled lights” render path.
- Optimized ice shaders in Stone and White themes.
- Improved “enabled gate” effect.
- Improved HID device interaction.
- Improved display mode detection; skipping non-conformant modes.
- Fail gracefully if failing to setup OpenGL renderer.
Curiously, though the 33% off sale that accompanied the Mac release was supposed to end August 31, the title is still available for the discounted price. Have at it if you’d like until they remove the savings.
A PC demo is also available for download on the Steam page and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Mac demo down the line here sometime, seeing how the full version was just recently ported over to OSX. Patience yo.
