Space Whale Studios stopped on by our forums (see? everybody’s doin’ it!) to announce their upcoming Xbox Live Indie and PC game Return All Robots! a unique puzzle game that not only hearkens back to the old days of puzzle gaming, but also looks to have some solid gameplay puzzle mechanics as well.
The premise for the game seems fairly simple, according to the walkthrough video released. You play as an intern at some major technology firm who gets caught in the middle of a mysterious disaster that unleashes a bunch of robots around the facility. Using a special remote the intern can control the robots and move them in varying directions. The object of the game is to save the good robots by navigating them to the portal and destroy or avoid the bad robots entirely.
The game is planned to ship with 40 different levels which will include varying degrees of puzzle difficulty as well as “hazards and obstacles ranging from liquid nitrogen, lava, conveyor belts, Tesla coils and acid to ice blocks, laser turrets, deadly fans and more.”
There’s not yet an official release date beyond Fall 2010, nor is there any price. We do know that the game is set to be released onto Microsoft’s own XBLIG platform as well as a traditional digital PC release. We’ll update as we get more information.
