Independent Games Festival China organizers have officially announced the opening for indie game submissions from the pan-Pacific area now through Wednesday, September 15 for their second annual IGF China 2010 main and student competitions. Selected finalists will be on showcase at GDC China 2010 which will run December 5-7.
The main competition will present awards in five categories: Best Game, Best Mobile Game, Excellence in Audio, Excellence in Technology, and Excellence in Visual Arts. The student competition carries two categories: IGF Best Student Game and IGF Excellent Student Winner which will award two winners. Finalists in all categories get VIP and expo passes to attend GDC China and the IGF awards ceremony on December 5, 2010.
Last year’s event saw more than 200 entries for the Main Competition and the Student Competition, including entries from China, the Philippines, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Pakistan, Australia, Taiwan, South Korea, India and more. Winners will earn between $500-$3000 depending on which category they take. Full details on the cash prizes, and submission process for both main and student competitions can be found here. Remember developers, your deadline is September 15, with finalists announced on October 25.
