Before we jump into today’s match up, let’s go over a quick ending result. It would appear Ben There, Dan That has successfully defeated Don’t Look Back. Congratulations to the crew at Zombie Cow Studios for their terrific effort. This also means that Ben There, Dan That will be going head to head with with Love, by Eskil Steenberg in the round of 16. That’s gonna be a good battle.

Anyway, let’s move on to today’s exciting tourney:

Up first we have Derek Yu’s fantastically designed and incredibly fun indie hit: Spelunky, the Indiana Jones-esque treasure hunting romp. Now for those who haven’t yet played Spelunky, I strongly urge that you do so. While the game is incredibly challenging and you will die many, many times, the magic in Spelunky comes from the randomly generated maps which ensure that each play through is thoroughly different.

Facing off against Spelunky is the incredibly deep adventure game 5 Days a Stranger as apart of the Chzo Mythos series. Created by Ben Croshaw (of “Yahtzee fame) the game follows the story of a thief named Trilby and four others in their fight against a demonic force in Defoe Manor. This is an incredibly deep adventure series and one that often reminds me of the late, great Gabriel Knight adventure classics.

This is one of my, personal, favorite match ups. It’s almost a shame one has to go out so early in the tournament, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. Cast your vote!
