The wonderful folks over at Superstar Games dropped me an e-mail the other day to let me know that one of my personal favorite iPhone games, Marble Merge, is now officially available for free on the App Store for an indefinite amount of time. Marble Merge is an addictive match puzzler that is a refreshing but reminiscent take on Tetris. Originally priced at $0.99, Superstar is hoping to give skeptical gamers a chance to sink their teeth into the gameplay and judge for themselves whether this truly is the new Tetris.

“We always hoped Marble Merge might be those slow burners, but tracking the feedback and online communities and reviews, it was quite a pleasant supprise that our customers thought it is possibly the next Tetris or Bejelewed. We know some may be reluctant at the view, but we’ve decided to widen the scope of opinion by making the full game absolutely free for the time being!
