Republic of Fun, my North Carolina neighbors and the developers behind Pinheads Party, launches Slug Wars: To Shell and Back for iPad today. To Shell and Back is the sequel to Republic of Fun’s iPhone game Slug Wars, which enabled players to take on the role of brave slug warriors fighting epic battles in a real-time (slug time) strategy game. The new game brings players back for more dramatic sluggy victories and crushing sluggy defeats in the weedy back garden, and offers a new four-player mode just for the iPad.

The Slug Wars: To Shell and Back app for iPad is the sequel to the popular original version for iPhone and iPod touch. The first edition of Slug Wars used troops of slugs to defend home base and destroy enemies. To Shell and Back is more than just a continuation of the old game; it’s a complete re-working of Slug Wars with all new units, towers, gameplay and a unique storyline created especially for iPad. The app also provides four-player multiplayer options, huge maps and even more whimsically detailed graphics.
