Hitting the PSP Minis service later this month, Alien Zombie Death is promising some, rather unique, zombie action. And, in a grand show of one-ups-manship, the developers have decided that instead of using normal, boring zombies — you know the kind that are featured in every other indie game — they are going to throw us a slight curve ball and, instead, give us some alien zombies. Frightening!

Of course, when you think about it, just what exactly is an alien zombie? I mean, perhaps that’s just their culture. Who are we to debase them based on their own sort of alien beliefs about brain eating and swarm-killing? So prejudiced.

Anyway, the game is a 2D platformer where you, a standard human, get trapped on an alien platform with nothing but your laser gun. From there you have to jump and kill your way through hundreds of zombie waves. It actually looks pretty fun, although the trailer (below) doesn’t show a huge variation in the types of gameplay.

Still at $3.99 and available as a PSP Mini download it’s not a bad price for what looks to be a genuinely fun game. That said, I’m sure that price would be half if it was on the iPhone/iPod Touch so… when’s that comin’?

Alien Zombie Death will be available on U.S./Canadian PSPs starting March 25th.
